New York Times bestselling author Jill Shalvis returns to Wildstone with the touching story of finding your place in the world—and the people who make it home.

Piper Manning’s about as tough as they come, she’s had to be. She raised her siblings and they’ve thankfully flown the coop. All she has to do is finish fixing up the lake house her grandparents left her, sell it, and then she’s free.

When a massive storm hits, she runs into a tall, dark and brooding stranger, Camden Reid. There’s a spark there, one that shocks her. Surprising her further, her sister and brother return, each of them holding their own secrets. The smart move would be for Piper to ignore them all but Cam unleashes emotions deep inside of her that she can’t deny, making her yearn for something she doesn’t understand. And her siblings…well, they need each other.

Only when the secrets come out, it changes everything Piper thinks she knows about her family, herself…and Cam. Can she find a way to outrun the demons? The answer is closer than she thinks—just as the new life she craves may have already begun.

I'm super excited to start off 2020 with a new Wildstone book from Jill Shalvis, I'm still relatively new to her books as I have only read the newest two series, but I have loved every part of them, and I love the family dynamic of these books and the heroine of Almost Just Friends Piper Manning is my planner addict fictional soul sister.

Let's get on with the story shall we, so Piper Manning was forced to grow up fast when her parents died and now her siblings have their own lives, Piper is finally ready to start fresh with her own life, which just so happens to be outside of Wildstone.

DEA Agent and coastguard reserve Camden Reid came to Wildstone for his father, mainly to get to know him after being estranged since childhood, but that is not all Cam finds when he moves here, he finds Piper, who gets to him on another level...but Piper's family arrives with secrets withheld and explosions on the horizon.

This book literally made my whole weekend! It had everything! Family drama, love, pain, and BULLET JOURNALS!... yes I have a problem. But putting the planning world aside, this book was wonderful from beginning to end, the characters are fantastic, relatable and slightly complex, Ms. Shalvis totally rocked this book!

I give Almost Just Friends 5 stars

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Jill Shalvis writes warm, funny, sexy contemporary romances and women’s fiction. An Amazon, BN & iBooks bestseller, she’s also a two-time RITA winner and has more than 15 million copies of her books sold worldwide.

Jill lives with her family in a small town in the Sierras full of quirky characters (Any resemblance to the quirky characters in her books is mostly coincidental). She does most of her writing on her deck surrounded by more animals than humans. Which is quite astonishing considering she’s a city girl who was plucked from the wilds of L.A. to the wilds of the Sierra’s. Most of her books come from a combination of hard work, cookies, and hot guy pics, and not necessarily in that order.
