SO, the story is as follows. Pepper
is hiding in plain sight; too keep her safe from the people who are trying to
hurt her and her brother Rowdy. Logan is an undercover police detective, who
knows who Pepper is and is trying to get to her brother. Logan plays a
contractor working at his brother Dash’s job site, all while trying to entice
Pepper into reviling where her brother is. When Logan and Reese haul Rowdy in
for questioning Pepper springs into action and heads off the people threatening
her family. Will Pepper forgive Logan and will there romance survive.
This is the first book in the Love
Undercover series. I don’t know if the story was a bit slow or I was just too
eager for the action to start, but it seemed the drag a little. The romance
between Pepper and Logan is hot, from the get go…until Logan has to reveal who
he really is and that he knows who Pepper really is.
The introduction to a whole bunch of
new characters is fantastic! I already have a couple of favorites…but right at
the end we get a blast from the past! And I am so excited to see this character
again.
I do love the interaction Pepper and
Detective Reese Bareden! Rowdy so far is my favorite supporting character! I
hope he gets his own book in the future.
Run The Risk is a good start to the new series and earns 5 stars!
