His Cowboy Heart by Jennifer Ryan Review

Montana Men #6
By: Jennifer Ryan
Releasing February 21, 2017
Avon Books
Tour Host: Tasty Book Tours

Bound by honor and by love…
That’s a Montana Man

Ford Kendrick has often dreamed of the day that Jamie Keller would come home to Montana. After high school, she needed to leave—and he, duty-bound to rescue his family’s ranch, pushed her to go. The Army made Jamie a hero, but Ford still sees the gorgeous, loving woman who lit up his whole world.

Every day since she left, Jamie has longed for Ford. One glimpse confirms it: the sexy, dangerous-looking cowboy left a hole in her heart that nothing else can fill. Yet the battle scars she bears—inside and out—won’t let her trust anyone enough to get close.

Ford wants to bring Jamie back to the life they dreamed of building. But locked somewhere in her memories is a dark truth that threatens her safety. It’s a battle Ford won’t let her fight alone, not when he’s determined to keep her by his side, now and always…

A few years ago, I could say with my hand on my heart, that I didn't like suspense romance; but then I picked up Jennifer Ryan's book Saved by the Rancher, and my whole world changed! I found with Jennifer Ryan's books, that real life can be scary enough, you don't need to add extras, but also, you can find love in the most darkest times. And ever since then I have been hooked to stories! And His Cowboy Heart is no different.

The story starts eleven years ago, when Ford Kendrick was forced up the love of his life! But Ford knew that sending Jaime away brake his heart, but he also knew she couldn't stay around her toxic mother! So he was torn between them. He knew couldn't leave his family and the ranch, and so he sent her away, to save herself. But Jamie is back, but she is a shell of her former self and thankfully, a bad shot!

Jamie Keller has struggled every day since she returned home! Not only dealing with her (freaking crazy) mother and civilian life, but with the sever PTSD and the physical and loss of memory from being injured while in war. But in walks Ford, the only man she has ever loved, trying to get her to, not only trust him, but herself too!

But then darkness arrives in the form of someone that was supposed to protect her, will she succumb to the darkness or stay in the light with Ford.

What an amazing story! I seriously was in tears for most of the book! Seriously, from the characters (whom I love) to the writing and plot, it has truly been one of the best books I have read to date.

I give His Cowboy Heart 5 stars!

She wanted so much to go back in time and change the course of her life. She wanted Ford to ask her to stay, not tell her to go. She wanted to have the life they dreamed about, but seemed like some other woman’s wish because she wasn’t that person anymore. She wanted to be that hopeful girl again, but couldn’t fight reality. She’d never be the same again. This version of herself wanted to run. From the nightmares. That terrifying black hole in her mind. From Ford. Herself.
Damnit, she was so tired of fighting herself, the dark thoughts in her mind and the feeling of defeat that swamped her sometimes, and especially fighting what she felt for Ford. She didn’t want to do it anymore.
Time to declare a cease fire with herself.

I’ll take care of myself.
I’ll be kinder to myself.
I’ll allow myself to believe good things still happen.

Whisper of Love by Melissa Foster Review

The Bradens at Peaceful Harbor, MD #5
By: Melissa Foster
Releasing February 22, 2017
World Literary Press
Tour Host: Tasty Book Tours

Tempest Braden adores her family and her small hometown, but sometimes too much of a good thing can be confining. At almost thirty, having watched most of her siblings find true love, she’s anxious to experience her own happily ever after, and the move to Pleasant Hill, Maryland, is just the change she needs. When she rents a room from ruggedly handsome, and closed-off, artist Nash Morgan and his adorable son, Phillip, she thinks she’s found a little slice of heaven on the outskirts of town, where she can concentrate on building her business. That is, if she can ignore the undeniable heat between her and the sinfully hot single father.

When Nash bought his farmette, he had one goal in mind—to provide a loving, stable home for his son. He never imagined he’d be raising Phillip alone, or renting out a room to keep their heads above water. Then again, he never imagined losing his brother, or spending two years sailing around the world with parents who seemed to forget one son was still alive.

Sparks fly from the moment Tempest moves in, and her positive energy and inquisitive nature brings new life into Nash and Phillip’s quiet, confined world. For the first time in years, Nash wants to let a woman into his world, but while his loss made him stronger, that strength came at a price, leaving him walled off and wary of opening his heart again.

Wow! I'm am honestly just completely in love with Melissa Fosters Peaceful Harbor series! I'm blown away by the amazing writing of Ms Foster's books Anaya, but my favorite series of all, has to be Peaceful Harbor; and I don't know how she did it, but the author has managed to raise the series to new heights, with Whisper of Love!

Tempest Braden is a Women with a beautiful soul and a musical career, that helps children; but right now she is in desperate need of sleep! when she first move to Pleasant Hill, she thought that staying with her cousin Jillian, would make the most sense! But her cousin NEVER sleeps and Tempe NEEDS SLEEP (I feel her pain). Which leads her renting a room from Nash Morgan and his adorable 3 year old son, Philip.

Nash Morgan has never had a truly stable life since the age of 15, when his whole world imploded, when his older brother died. But life changed again 4 years ago, when his then girlfriend had there son, and he gave up his life as a sculpter, to settle down and raise his infant son., little did he know that his girlfriend would walk out and sign her over the right to their son. So Nash made a fresh life for himself and Philip, keeping him in a bubble keeping Philip safe.

But then in walks Tempest in to their lives and  she is truly a fresh breath of air!  And so they begin their beautiful story.

Whisper of Love is a amazingly beautiful story about love, trust and going for what you want and trust me! I want this book in paperback! Not just on my kindle!

The characters are amazing and it was wonderful to see some of the characters from past books, and I think I might be spying a Pleasant Hill's series in the future. I will warn you, that Philip will absolutely steal your heart! Especially when he signs! I actually cried at that moment.

When it comes to the writing and plot, you cannot help but fall in love with the story and be captivated by the writing! It's basically a little sliced of heaven!

I give Whispers of Love 5 stars!

The sound of tires on gravel drew his attention. He scooped Phillip into his arms, locked the goat pen, and grabbed the buckets.
“Visitor,” he said, carrying Phillip toward the house and eyeing the Prius parking behind his old Ford pickup truck. His truck was a gas guzzler, but as much as he hated that, he needed the bed of the truck to haul the furniture he made into town. He hoped Tempest Braden, the woman coming to see the room he was renting out, wasn’t a preachy tree hugger. Hell, he hoped she would turn out to be the silent type so he could pretend she didn’t live in their house.
Phillip’s brows knitted, his hands firmly planted around Nash’s neck. He wasn’t used to visitors. The last several people who had come to see the room they had for rent hadn’t been the kind of people Nash wanted around his son. They’d rubbed him the wrong way—too aggressive, too loud, too shady, too flighty. He just needed a stable, responsible person to rent the room so he could afford to upgrade a few of his tools and start saving for Phillip’s future. He tightened his grip on his son and headed up to meet the tall blonde stepping from the car.
Her wispy skirt fluttered around her knees. Large pink roses with muted green leaves looked as if they’d been thrown onto the flimsy white material haphazardly. A fringe of lace lined the edges. On anyone else the flouncy, floral skirt might look immature. But her legs went on forever, and coupled with her tight, curve-hugging tank top, she looked like Sweet and Sexy collided at the corner of Sinful Temptation.
She turned as he approached, and Nash stopped in his tracks, standing still as a stone. The setting sun caught her hair, highlighting several different shades of blond in long, cascading layers that hung to the middle of her back. Her nose was slightly upturned, and she had a cute, rounded chin. He’d never seen such natural beauty.
She smiled and tilted her head. “Nash?”
Shaking his head to clear his thoughts, he forced his legs to carry him forward. “Yes. Tempest?”
She met him halfway up the hill. “Thanks for seeing me so quickly.” She peered into the buckets. “I hope I’m not interrupting.”
“Evening routine. Did you have any trouble finding us?” She was even more beautiful up close. Her hair was tousled, as if she hadn’t brushed it all day, and her eyes were so light blue, they had starbursts of white around the pupils, sparkling like diamonds. It had been a long time since any woman had caught Nash’s interest, and he reminded himself to rein in that attraction. The last thing he needed were complications in Phillip’s life. Even for a girl with the most spectacular blue eyes he’d ever seen.
“No. Your directions were perfect.” She smiled at Phillip, and when she spoke again her voice was soft as a summer’s breeze. “What’s your name, cutie pie?”
Phillip’s fingers dug into his neck. Nash nodded his approval.
“Flip,” Phillip said.
Tempest’s eyes widened with amusement. “Flip? That’s a unique name.” That beautiful smile lit up her face again. “I’m Tempest, but everyone calls me Tempe. It’s nice to meet you both.”
When she turned that smile on Nash, his entire body heated up. As a sea lover, he knew the word tempest meant a violent storm. It was obvious what type of unexpected storm this sweet-natured, soft-spoken beauty could cause, and he couldn’t afford to be caught in a squall.
“My son’s name is Phillip.” He said it faster than he’d meant to, and realized his son’s name came out sounding like Flip. He’d also said it harsher than he’d intended. Reeling in his attraction was going to make him look like an asshole.
“Then Flip it is.”
The way she said it sounded so damn cute, he wasn’t about to correct her.
“Flip,” Phillip repeated.

“Come on, I’ll show you the room.” He caught a whiff of her floral perfume on the way inside. It had been a long time since he’d smelled anything so feminine. Maybe this housemate thing wasn’t such a good idea after all.

Love Story by Lauren Layne Review

Love Unexpectedly #3

Over the course of one wild road trip, feuding childhood sweethearts get a second chance at love in this charming rom-com—a standalone novel from the New York Times bestselling author of Blurred Lines and Good Girl.

When Lucy Hawkins receives a job offer in San Francisco, she can’t wait to spread her wings and leave her small Virginia hometown behind. Her close-knit family supports her as best they can, by handing over the keys to a station wagon that’s seen better days. The catch? The cross-country trip comes with a traveling companion: her older brother’s best friend, aka the guy who took Lucy’s virginity hours before breaking her heart.

After spending the past four years and every last dime caring for his sick father, Reece Sullivan will do just about anything to break free of the painful memories—even if it means a two-week road trip with the one girl who’s ever made it past his carefully guarded exterior. But after long days of bickering in the car turn into steamy nights in secluded motel rooms, Reece learns that, when it comes to Lucy, their story is far from over. And this time, they just might have a shot at a happy ending.

So we are back with a short romance from Lauren Layne; and I have to say that the author has out done herself on this story.

The loved Reese's character and I have to admit, that my heart 100% broke, when you find out all the losses in his life. But what actually broke my heart and quite frankly reduced me to tears, was when he realized letting Lucy go was a mistake and saw her outside the library! OMG!! It was truly a ugly cry moment. Lucy's character I found it a little tougher to like; I found her whiney and childish and a couple of times I wanted to yell at her to grow up! But I do have to remember this is a New Adult book, and not my normal sub-genre I tend to read.

Now, when it comes to the writing and plot, you can tell it's a Lauren Layne book. It's beautifully written, with a heartwarming plot, that basically leaves you spellbound.

I give Love Story 4 stars!

“Spock, we’re giving you Horny!” my mom blurts out, apparently fed up with my denseness.
Her utterance is too much for my siblings to handle and they both burst out laughing, retreating into the kitchen to rejoin the party where there’s wine.
Oh what I wouldn’t give for wine right now.
“I, um . . . you’re giving me the car?” I ask.
“Because yours broke down,” my dad explains, walking forward to thump Horny’s dented hood.
“And this one’s . . . not broken down?” I ask skeptically.
Look, it’s not that I’m not grateful. My parents are trying to give me a car, I appreciate the sweetness of the gesture, it’s just . . .
Here’s the thing about Horny: he barely got us three kids through high school. I mean, Horny is the car that sputtered and shook making it the 3.2 miles to Jefferson High, no matter who was behind the wheel.
I’m even going to come all the way clean here and say that early on in my freshmen year, I was embarrassed showing up in Horny. Then I realized I was lucky to have a car at all, and well . . . I dunno, I guess Horny became a part of us Hawkins kids’ charm, because the station wagon was practically an institution from Craig’s high school reign all the way through Brandi’s.
But poor Horny quit working years ago. Much to Brandi’s chagrin, he gave up the ghost a mere two months before her high school graduation, and I spent the last bit of her senior year being picked up by my parents.
“He’s going to take you to California,” Dad says, giving the car another thump.
“Really?” I step forward and run a tentative finger along the familiar panel. He’s had a bath, so at least that’s something. “Because last I knew, he wouldn’t even make it out of the garage.”
“Yeah, well, we neglected him for a while, but he’s right as rain now,” Dad says, puffing out his chest as though Horny’s a fourth child.
“Like, as in he actually starts?”
“Purrs like a kitten,” my mom says with an emphatic nod, even though I know she doesn’t even like cats. “We didn’t believe it, but we took him to church on Sunday and there were no issues.”
I literally bite my tongue to keep from pointing out that this is hardly a feat. Sacred Presbyterian is 0.8 miles away from the house.
“You took Horny into a shop?” I ask, starting to warm to the idea of having a car again. I’m a little touched, actually. Money is tight for my parents. Dad’s a PE teacher, and Mom gives a mean winery tour, but the gig’s never paid much.
“Not exactly, it was more of a bartering situation,” Mom says.
“Yeah?” I say, going around to the driver’s seat, already giddy with the prospect of telling Oscar I’ll be able to come see him in Miami after all, even if I won’t exactly be riding in style.
“Reece agreed to fix him up.”
I’m lowering myself into the car as my dad says this, but I reverse so quickly I hit my head. My skull doesn’t even register the pain, because I’m too busy registering the hurt in my heart at the familiar name. “I’m sorry, what?”
“Reece,” my mom says, giving me a bemused look. “He’s always been handy with cars.”
“He fixed up the car in exchange for what?”
And then I feel—I actually feel—the air change around me as the side door to the garage opens, and a new presence sucks all the air out of the space.
I don’t turn around. I don’t move. But I feel his eyes on me. Over me.
“Reece is headed out to California too,” my oblivious mother chatters on. “It worked out perfectly actually. Now you two can ride together, and your dad and I don’t have to worry about you alone in the middle of nowhere with a twenty-something-year-old car.
They think the car is going to be the problem here? It’s not the car that’s toxic to me. It’s him.
Reece Sullivan. My brother’s best friend. My parents’ “other son.”
Slowly I force myself to turn, and even though I’m prepped, the force of that ice-blue gaze still does something dangerous to me.
He winks, quick and cocky, and I suck in a breath, and I have to wonder . . .
I wonder if my parents would feel differently about their little plan if they knew that their makeshift mechanic is the same guy that popped my cherry six years earlier under their very roof.
And then broke my heart twenty-four hours later.

Rescued by Love by Melissa Foster Review

Rescued by Love
The Ryders #4
By: Melissa Foster
Released January 11, 2017
EverAfter Romance
Tour Host: Tasty Book Tours

Jake is determined to keep Addy close and make her his
But Addy has other plans...

Addison Dahl is excited to return to Elpitha Island for her best friend Gabriella’s wedding. A weekend of sun and fun is just what she needs before setting out on her newest adventure—roughing it in the wilderness. Addison is tough, she’s independent, and she doesn’t “do” feelings toward men. But lately her friend—and Gabriella’s brother-in-law—sinfully sexy and ornery-as-hell Jake Ryder has been the star of her late-night fantasies, and she can’t get him out of her mind. It doesn’t help that the chemistry between them is scorching hot. With any luck, a few days in the wilderness will snap that craziness out of her head.

As a top search and rescue professional, Jake Ryder spends his days saving those in need and his nights in the arms of willing women who offer nothing more than a few hours of sexual enjoyment. But there’s only one woman he wants, and he’s spent the last several months trying to get beautiful, smart, and sassy Addison to give him one sinful night. He’s sure one night will lead to more.

The night of the wedding the heat between Jake and Addy ignites, and they’re powerless to resist their explosive passion. Wild kisses, sensual touches, and heartfelt conversations brings them closer together, and when the weekend ends, Jake is determined to keep Addy close and make her his. But Addy has other plans...

So we are back with another Love in Bloom book and I was (as normal) thrilled to be reading another one of Melissa Foster's masterpieces.

Addy is the daughter of a world-renowned  fashion designer, and never expects to find the one man that can give her everything she wants, being an independent women, she doesn't need to be taken care of or to take care of someone else, and now that she is 30, she feels that she will never have that in her life. What she does have is a group of amazing friends and then there is Jake...her best friends corky brother, who manages to turn everything into a sexual innuendo. But after one night of passsion, neither of them can get the other out of their heads, and Jake is determined that he won't let Abby out of his sight...but that's in Abby's plans...and I'm going to just leave that there, just to drive you all crazy.

So Melissa Foster has knocked it out if the park , with another amazing book! The writing: superb; The plot: delicious, and the characters divine! I could go on forever about how amazing this book is!, but seriously, every single one of Melissa Foster books are amazing, addictive and sexy as heck! And I'm proud to say I'm a Melissa Foster's addict, with no plans to ever recover.

I give Rescued by Love 5 stars!

The spicy scent of Jake’s cologne overrode the aroma of grilled meats and casseroles Gabriella’s relatives had spent all day preparing. Jake rested his elbow on the bar beside her, brushing his muscular forearm against hers and sending ripples of awareness to her core.
Who was she kidding? There was no distracting herself from the biggest distraction of them all.
“I think there are still a few guys you haven’t danced with yet.”
Of course Jake would go straight to pushing her buttons.
“I’ll have to take care of that, won’t I? Gab’s brother, Niko, is looking awfully hot tonight.” Niko was the epitome of a Greek heartthrob. Tall, dark, handsome, and as touchy-feely as the rest of Gabriella’s warm and loving family. He was also a shameless flirt.
Jake ground his teeth together, nearly paralyzing her with a blistering stare.
“I haven’t seen you dance all night. What’s the matter? Not into sexy island girls? Because I’m pretty sure that guy over there by the tree bats for the other team.” She enjoyed taunting the lion, even if she didn’t want to get too close. Her pulse beat wildly, and her fingers ached to grab him by the collar of his dress shirt and yank him down for what she knew would be an incredibly hot kiss. She tried to keep from dropping her eyes lower, but she was no match for the enticing ever-present bulge beneath his zipper. The one that became even more prominent when they were near. And damn, she liked knowing she had that effect on him.
He leaned in close, his warm breath coasting over her cheek. “I’m not into dancing, but if you keep looking at me like that you might find yourself getting up close and personal with more than you can handle.”
She lifted her eyes to his, which had gone coal black, and she swallowed hard against the lust threatening to pour out her mouth. Addy was used to controlling every interaction and reveled in holding her own and taking what she wanted where men were concerned. Or at least she always had, until the King of Hotness standing next to her came into the picture. Jake definitely threw her off her game. Lately, when they were together, she caught herself wondering if what she was experiencing were actual emotions rather than impulses. That was one thing that had kept her from taking their flirting to the next level. His relationship to her best friend was the other. But boy did she want to cross that line. It had been way too long since she had been with a man, thanks to Jake. Every time she came close to satisfying the urge to feel the weight of a man pressing down on her and get lost in the throes of passion, goddamn Jake swam into her mind, stealing her focus and killing the moment. Her fantasy had become her own personal cockblocker.
In an effort to reclaim the upper hand and prove he did not rattle her, she dragged her eyes over his chest again and said, “I have yet to meet a man who comes close to being what I can handle, much less more.”
The edge of his lips twitched as if they might quirk up, but he clenched his jaw, making the muscles beneath his dark scruff jump. He shifted his eyes away just as Niko headed toward them with a warm and inviting smile, making those jaw muscles work double time.
Niko nodded at Jake and offered his hand to Addy. “What kind of brother would I be if I didn’t dance with my sister’s beautiful best friend? Care to join me?”
“I’d love to.” Addy reached for his hand, taking pleasure in the tension rolling off of the man who had yet to ask her for a single dance but had no trouble inviting her into his bed.
