Starlight Bridge by Debbie Mason Review
Harmony Harbor, #2
By Debbie Mason
Released: February 28, 2017
Forever
A second chance for romance...
Hidden in Graystone Manor is a book
containing all the dark secrets of Harmony Harbor, and Ava DiRossi is
determined to find it. No one—especially not her ex-husband, Griffin Gallagher—can
ever discover what really tore her life apart all those years ago. With Griffin
back in town, it's more important than ever that she find the book before
someone else does. Because her ex is still angry with her for leaving him. And
he still has no idea Ava never stopped loving him...
Ava is no longer the vibrant, happy
woman Griffin had once loved and married, and he would do anything to bring
back the sparkle to her brilliant green eyes. But what's never changed are the
sexy sparks of attraction between Ava and Griffin, and he won't give her up
again without a fight. He knows there's the real possibility of a future
together...if the truth doesn't burn the bridge between them forever.
Ava and Griffin were in love and seemed to have a wonderful marriage, until evil in disguised as a friend, entered their lives and destroyed everything they had, not that Griffin ever knew what happened to change Ava, all he knew was Ava filed for a divorce and broke his heart.
After fleeing to Harmony Harbor, and finding a job with Giffin's grandmother Collen, she reveal her secret, knowing that Colleen would protect it. It was only after Colleen died, did Ava realize that Colleen has written her secret in her diary, but the diary has gone missing and Ava is scared that her secret will be revealed.
But add to that stress, Griffin is back in Harmony Harbor and newly single after his second divorce, but he was shocked to see just how run down Ava is! Especially her shoes! She seemed to have lost that sparkle, but Griffin is still very much in love with Ava, even though he was hurt by her actions.
But things don't go smoothly for Ava and Griffin, especially when a pregnant ex wife arrives and Ana's painful secret is revealed! Are Griffin and Ava ever destined to be together?
Wow! This book really packs a punch! And not just one!! Boy oh boy do the hits keep coming and I have barely scratched the surface with this gut wrenching story. Even though I'm not normally keen on stories that feature ghosts, the author has done an amazing job of keeping the integrity of the story, with her truly spectacular writing.
I give Starlight Bridge 4 stars!

She sensed Griffin rising to his
feet and heard him placing his mug on the desk. And then he was there, crouched
in front of her. He took her mug, setting it on the floor before he gently
smoothed the rough pads of his fingers over her cheek. “You know it kills me to
see you cry.”
“Still?” she murmured without
looking at him.
“Yeah, looks like,” he said,
sounding as though the admission cost him.
A tiny flicker of hope ignited
inside her. She smothered it, unwilling to put herself in the position of being
disappointed. She didn’t think her heart could withstand another blow today.
“I know you did more than smooth the
way for my father, Griffin. I don’t believe Gino’s monthly pension checks and
insurance will come close to covering the cost. I need to know what I owe you.
I doubt I can pay it all at once though, so maybe we could come up with a
monthly payment plan?”
At her suggestion, a muscle pulsed
in his clenched jaw, and his eyes narrowed. She was familiar with that look. It
didn’t bode well for her repayment plan. And maybe because of that small hope
that refused to be denied, she raised her hand to trace his stubbled jaw with
her finger. “You know that look always annoyed me,” she said, thinking back to
how long it had been since she’d touched him this way.
“Yeah, and you always knew how to
get rid of it. Never could hold out against you for long.” His eyes darkened as
though remembering their standoffs always ended in bed.
“What are we doing?” she whispered,
the heat in his eyes weakening her resolve. She had to know if it was just her
imagination. She’d deal with the consequences later.
“I—”
The study door swung open, and her
cousin rushed in. “Ava, are—Oh, I…” Sophie’s gaze moved from Griffin to Ava.
“Am I interrupting?”
Griffin rose to his feet, and Ava
didn’t know if it was relief or regret she saw on his face.
He glanced at his watch. “I better
get going. I have to meet up with Sully.”
Ah, so it had been relief after all,
she thought, fighting to keep the disappointment from showing on her face.
Sophie smiled, stepping in front of
Griffin as he walked to the door. “Welcome home,” she said, giving him a hug.
“We’re so glad you took the job.”
“Job?” Ava asked, and there it was
again, hope. Only this time it came out in her voice.
Griffin turned with his hand on the
doorknob. “Sully offered me a job with the Coast Guard. Thought it was about
time I came home.” He held her gaze. “We’ll talk later. If you need me, call.”
Sophie stared at her, openmouthed.
“He…You.” Sophie found her voice and looked from the door to Ava. “What did I
just interrupt?”
“I’m not sure,” she murmured, glad
she was sitting, otherwise her legs might have given out.

'Tis the season for love . . .
Sophie
DiRossi loved growing up in Harmony Harbor. But after fleeing in disgrace many
years ago, it is the last place she wants to be. Left homeless
by a fire, she's forced to go back to the small coastal town that harbors a
million secrets, including her own. Sophie sees this secret reflected every day
in her daughter's blue eyes-and she must keep it hidden from the only man she
has ever loved.
Sophie's
return is a shock for everyone . . . especially Liam Gallagher. The firefighter
had some serious feelings for Sophie-and seeing her again sparks a desire so
fierce it takes his breath away. Now Liam will do whatever it takes to show
Sophie that they deserve a second chance at love, even if everything they've
concealed threatens to keep them apart. In this special town at this special
time of the year, Sophie and Liam can only hope for a little holiday magic . .
.
Sophie DeRossi was finally back in Harmony Harbor after a self-imposed exile for 8 years and she wasn't alone, she bought her daughter Mia. But after her mother's irresponsible behavior, when she was supposed to be taking care Mia, caused LA's Children's services to investigate her and possibly take her daughter away. Sophie did the one thing that made sense…she headed home to her family. But is she willing to also deal with introducing Mia to the father, who never even knew he had a child.
I didn't realize until today, just how many Debbie Mason books I had read, until today! I think it's because every book feels like the first. Her stories are so unique! She somehow makes some of the toughest storyline, into a magical love story, that somehow mesmerizes you from the beginning, and Mistletoe Cottage is no different.
The plot and writing are distinctly Debbie Mason style; hard hitting, but in a warm and friendly way. The characters are enchanting, and despite my absolute love for Liam, Sophie and their families, my favorite character is by far Mia! And I look forward to may more books from Harmony Harbor
I give Mistletoe Cottage 5 stars!

Liam held up his hands and took a step back with a wary expression on his handsome face. “Maybe you better tell me what the problem is, Soph.”
“Okay,
but don’t laugh. I had to borrow clothes from Rosa for the interview, and
they’re too big. So we pinned the skirt . . .”
“Gotcha.
How about you take off your coat and—” he began as he moved behind her.
“I
can’t. My skirt will fall off if I do.” She heard what sounded like a snort of
laughter and looked over her shoulder. “You’re not supposed to laugh.”
He
crouched behind her, his eyes glinting with amusement. “I’m not. I’ll just”—he
lifted the hem of her coat and disappeared beneath it— “Ah, it’s a little dark
under here. Whereabouts is the pin?”
That
was an easy enough question to answer. She knew exactly where the pin was—it
was stabbing her left butt cheek. But with Liam’s hand resting on her hip while
the other one skimmed over the back of her skirt, she was having a difficult
time staying focused. All she could think was that Liam Gallagher, who’d once
played the starring role in her teenage fantasies, was touching her butt.
“Where it shouldn’t be,” she finally managed to say, reaching back to show him.
She ended up hitting him on the head instead.
“Hey,
I’m doing my best not to touch your ass, but it’s kind of—”
“May
I ask what you’re doing, Master Liam?”
Jasper
was like a wraith. You never saw or heard him coming. He’d appear out of
nowhere. Sophie wanted a do-over. This day was turning out worse than she’d
expected. And that had been pretty bad.
Liam’s
messy, dark hair appeared from under her coat. “Maybe you could—
Was
he seriously going to ask for Jasper’s help? Sophie drew her foot back and
lightly kicked Liam in the shin. He raised his eyes to hers, lifting an
eyebrow. She gave him a do-it-and-die look.
He
grinned. “All good here, Jeeves. My hammer got caught in the hem of Sophie’s
coat.”
“In
future, I’d suggest you be more careful with your tools around Miss DiRossi, Master Liam,” the older man said,
spearing Sophie with his ice-blue gaze. His mouth pressed in a thin line of
disapproval as he walked away.

Snowbound at Christmas by Debbie Mason Review
Snowbound
at Christmas
Christmas Colorado #5
Christmas Colorado #5
By: Debbie Mason
Releasing September 29, 2015
Forever
Surviving
the holidays will take a Christmas miracle . . .
Ex-cop Cat
O'Connor is bored working for her sister, Chloe, as a personal assistant on the
set of her soap opera. Until Chloe gets an opportunity to audition for the role
of a lifetime and asks her identical twin to substitute for her on the soap
with no one the wiser. It's a perfect switch-until Cat attracts the attention
of the mysterious Mr. Tall, Dark, and Way-too-handsome leading man.
Grayson
Alexander never thought being snowbound in the charming town of Christmas,
Colorado, for the holiday would get so hot. But between working with sexy,
tough Cat on set and keeping his real reason for being there under wraps, he's
definitely feeling the heat. And if there's one thing they'll learn as they
bring out the mistletoe, it's that in this town, true love is always in season.
This is not
a book I would normally read, but this has been a week of exciting new books,
so I though “what the heck” and I gave it a shot, I struggled with it a few
time, but by the end of the book I was glad I read it.
Cat O’Conner
hates her job as an assistant to her TV starlet sister Chloe (whom is quite
honestly a monster), this was not where she was supposed to be, but after her
ex stole people’s money and she lost her job, she really had no other choice.
On the day
that she informs her sister that she is done and is going back to their home
town, someone tries to kill her sister! But what no one (except her diva sister
and BFF TY) knows is that it’s actually Cat in disguised! Now Cat is refusing to
go home without her sister and is determined to protect her.
Special
Agent Greyson Alexander is going undercover as a British Lord/Actor called
Harry in order to protect Chloe O’Conner, from a devious fiend whom is trying
to hurt her; His suspicions put Cat firmly onto the very top of his suspects
list…until her meets her and she get under skin.
Now Cat and Harry
have joined forces to undercover the plot of who is trying to hurt Chloe and
why? But that is not the only truth that is discovered! And when everything is
out in the open, will anyone’s relationship ever be the same again!
I will be
very honest in saying that I found the plot a little confusing at times and the
writing a little choppy and to be quite frank, I honestly didn’t like half of
the characters at all, even Ty in parts, but putting that aside, the story was
an enjoyable read.
I give
Snowbound at Christmas 7 out of 10.
Harry drew a
bouquet of Tiger Lilies from behind his back and handed them to her. "We
seem to have gotten off on the wrong foot, Cat. I was hoping we could start over."
She stared
at the extravagant arrangement, then lifted her gaze to his. "For
me?"
He smiled.
"For you."
"I--I
don't know what to say. They're beautiful. Thank you." She meant it. Her
ex hadn't been a hearts-and-flowers kind of guy. The last man who'd given her
flowers had been her father. They'd arrived the day she made detective. Three
weeks later he died.
"My
goodness, would you let him in," her sister said, coming up behind Cat.
"Sorry, you'll have to excuse my sister's. . . Oh, Harry, they're exquisite.
Thank you." Chloe went to take the bouquet from Cat.
She clutched
them possessively to her chest. "They're mine." She didn't know what
had gotten into her, but she felt like a seven-year-old being asked to share
her favorite toy.
Chloe gave a
shocked laugh, obviously as surprised by Cat's reaction as she was. "Kit
Kat, don't be ridiculous. You're embarrassing your . . . " She tugged on
the flowers and Cat tugged back .
Harry neatly
inserted himself between them, ending their silent tug-of-war. With a gallant
bow, her handed her sister a single pink sweetheart rose. "For you, Chloe.
A perfect flower for a perfect woman."
"Oh, I
see. Thank you, Harry. It's . . . lovely. Please, come in. I didn't hear the
bell." She shot Cat an accusatory stare. "I was busy getting our
dinner ready."
"I can
see that. You have a touch of--" Harry leaned in, wiping away the
strategically placed white powder--"flour on your cheek. I hope you didn't
go to too much trouble on my account."
Her sister
was too much, Cat thought with a mental eye roll. Chloe wore a black apron--
with a pink sparkly crown above the word Diva (fitting)--over a flirty pink
dress.
She gave Cat
a zip-it look as Harry toed off his loafers. Probably worried Cat would spill
her secret that the gourmet shop did indeed do takeout. She wouldn't of course.
Though, admittedly, she was tempted to.
