Thirteen years ago Aubrey Wallace's life was completely wreaked when a tragic accident and within 24 hours everything had changed when she leaves town and leaves everything behind, but to be able to move on and to cope and get better, Aubrey puts everyone she left behind out of her mind.  

 

Fast forward 13 years and Aubrey is back in her adoptive town, after being honorable discharged from the military due to type 2 diabetes, only to find the one person she left behind in her small town 13 years before, was now standing in front of her, Luke Kelly. 

 

I'm going to be totally upfront with you all, I haven't read any of the previous Boys of Summer books, but for me that didn’t seem to matter as the author was really good at introducing the town and the characters to new readers, but I have to say that the book was really enjoyable, relatable and I now plan to start the series from the beginning. 

 

I give The Curveball 4 stars

 

A.M. Williams is just a simple girl from the south that found herself living abroad. When she’s not annoying her cat or reading, she’s spending time with her husband and traveling as much as possible. She has a serious case of wanderlust and wants to go as many places as possible while she can. She loves Cheerwine, sweet tea, and North Carolina (eastern style) BBQ as well as those crystal clear waters on the North Carolina coast.
