The New York Times bestselling author of Rainy Day Friends and Lost and Found Sisters returns to Wildstone, California...
Brooke Lemon has always led the life she wanted, wild adventures—and mistakes—included, something her perfect sister, Mindy, never understood. So when Mindy shows up on Brooke’s doorstep in the throes of a break-down with her three little kids in tow, Brooke’s shocked.
Wanting to make amends, Brooke agrees to trade places, taking the kids back to Wildstone for a few days so Mindy can pick up the pieces and put herself back together. What Brooke doesn’t admit is she’s just as broken . . . Also, how does one go home after seven years away? It doesn’t take long for Brooke to come face-to-face with her past, in the form of one tall, dark, sexy mistake. But Garrett’s no longer interested. Only his words don’t match his actions, leaving Brooke feeling things she’d shoved deep.
Soon the sisters begin to wonder: Are they lemons in life? In love? All they know is that neither seems to be able to run far enough to outpace her demons. And when secrets surface, they’ll have to learn that sometimes the one person who can help you the most is the one you never thought to ask.

If there was ever a book you never knew you needed in your life, this is it! From the first chapter I knew this book was different, but then again the Wildstone series is more than a simple romance series, it’s the series of pain, survival and fresh starts.
So let’s start with the basics; the story is a typical Jill Shalvis book in the fact that it was well written and researched, the characters are likable and within the first 3 chapters you are fully immersed in the story.
In The Lemon Sisters, the author has written the book in a way that you will find sympathy with both of the Lemon Sisters, Brooke is the sense of everything she has lost and how she segregated parts of her life to limit pain, and Mindy in the sense that she is struggling with being put last by her husband, her OCD and her feelings about their parents. But I can 100% say I had ZERO sympathies for Mindy. It might be that she treats her Nanny like crap, and as a Professional Nanny I find her fictional behavior offensive (and yes, I know how ridiculous that sound), or that I find her character selfish and self-absorbed, or maybe its a mixture of both, either way, I had sympathy for everyone except her!
Overall a marvelous book and one that I fully intend on buying in print, and not just keeping on my kindle! It truly is a must-read for the summer!
I give The Lemon Sisters 5 stars!
New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Jill Shalvis writes warm, funny, sexy contemporary romances and women’s fiction. An Amazon, BN & iBooks bestseller, she’s also a two-time RITA winner and has more than 15 million copies of her books sold worldwide.
Jill lives with her family in a small town in the Sierras full of quirky characters (Any resemblance to the quirky characters in her books is mostly coincidental). She does most of her writing on her deck surrounded by more animals than humans. Which is quite astonishing considering she’s a city girl who was plucked from the wilds of L.A. to the wilds of the Sierra’s. Most of her books come from a combination of hard work, cookies, and hot guy pics, and not necessarily in that order.
