For five years, Cecilia Morgan’s entire existence has revolved around playing personal assistant to self-centered former NFL quarterback Wade Carter. But just when she finally gives her notice, his father’s health fails, and Wade whisks her back to his hometown. CC will stay for his dad—for now—even if that means ignoring how sexy her boss is starting to look in his Wranglers.
To say CC’s notice is a bombshell is an insult to bombs. Wade can’t imagine his life without his “left tackle.” She’s the only person who can tell him “no” and strangely, it’s his favorite quality. He’ll do anything to keep her from leaving, even if it means playing dirty and dragging her back to Credence, Colorado, with him.
But now they’re living under the same roof, getting involved in small-town politics, and bickering like an old married couple. Suddenly, five years of fighting is starting to feel a whole lot like foreplay. What’s a quarterback to do when he realizes he might be falling for his “left tackle”? Throw a Hail Mary she’ll never see coming, of course.

Nothing but Trouble is the first book in the new Credence, Colorado Series by Amy Andrews, and this book gives me all the Two Weeks Notice vibes, but SO much better than the movie! Sorry to all those who love Hugh Grant, but he gets on my nerves in this movie, and being British, I'm allowed to say that!
But I digress; In this book, our long-suffering PA is CC (aka Cecilia Morgan), now only is she fantastic at her job, but she manages to deal with the man-whore of a boss, ex-NFL player Wade Carter. Now Wade is not a bad guy, he just likes women but isn't cruel or hateful of them, and he is also a really big family guy, so when his father was rushed in the hospital with a heart attack, he was right there! And when he decided to move to his Gone with the Wind monstrosity of a house for a few weeks to help on the hog farm that is father and brother run, he was also there! But he was surprised when CC handed in her notice and tried to get out of going to Credence with him! But as in all things with women, Wade got his way, but CC has a lot to hide, and she just hopes she can survive her notice, without spilling her secrets.
This book is awesome! It is seriously one of the best light-hearted romances I have read in a LONG time! I love the chemistry that all of the characters have with each other, and I spent half my time laughing and half my time crying! It is the perfect romance for all seasons and I'm truly looking forward to the next book in this series by Amy Andrews.
I give Nothing But Trouble 5 Stars
“And that’s where I had my first kiss.”
CC tuned back in and focused on where Wade was pointing. It was the football field, a lush bright green amidst the faded wooden bleachers and the peeling goalposts.
“Right there under those bleachers.” He smiled and sighed. “Kathy Williams. I became a man that day.”
“It was that good, huh?”
He laughed. “I suspect it was terrible at first.”
He shook his head, and a tiny little hitch near CC’s heart snuck up and surprised the hell out of her. Her gaze was drawn to his profile, to the tilt of his lips. Usually, those lips just exasperated the hell out of her, articulating his ridiculous demands, but, she had to admit, he had a great mouth. Kinda made a girl wonder what other demands lips like those could make.
Not that she’d ever wondered. Nor was she about to start. Crushing on her emotionally unavailable boss would be dumb. Especially when she was only a few months off never having to see him again.
“I fumbled it badly, went like a bull at a gate. She pulled away and said, ‘softly, Wade,’ and then…”
It was hard to believe Wade had ever fumbled anything. His had been the safest hands in the NFL. And he’d obviously improved beyond kissing if that thing he did with his tongue was as good as Annabel had said.
“Well…” He smiled, obviously still caught up in the memory. “Let’s just say she was patient, and I’m a fast learner.”
“How old were you?”
“I was fifteen. She was seventeen. The head cheerleader.”
CC rolled her eyes. “How very Riverdale of you.”
