Meet the women from Wild Rose Ranch—and the men who want them—in New York Times Bestselling Author Jennifer Ryan’s breathtaking series of romance and scandal . . .
Noah Cordero is a modern-day cowboy who loves three things: ranching, his younger sister, and his step-father. John Cordero groomed Noah to take over the Montana spread where he learned to ride and work the land. But when John unexpectedly dies, he leaves half the ranch to a woman Noah doesn’t even know.
Roxy shares Noah’s last name, but not his blood. Estranged from her father, haunted by regrets, and eager to escape her notorious mother’s past, she is forced to fulfill her father’s last wishes. Inheriting means sharing a home with infuriating, challenging, and oh-so-tempting Noah. But John didn’t just make her owner of his ranch and guardian to her sister, his hidden sideline is her worst nightmare—she’s the new owner of the notorious Nevada brothel called Wild Rose Ranch where she grew up.
As their strictly business relationship starts to turn to true love, Roxy begins to wonder, what will happen when Noah discovers her dirty little secret?

Dirty Little Secret is the first book in the new series by Jennifer Ryan, and one that takes a slightly different approach than her previous books, but from the prologue, I was completely addicted. Jennifer Ryan’s books have always had the ability to move me, but in Dirty Little Secret more than ever, as your heart just breaks for little girl Roxy, even though we never meet her!
But let’s get to the meat and potatoes part of the story before we go any further. The whole story is primarily based around one man, although he dies in the first chapter, and that is John Cordero, and that one man who controls the whole narrative of this book has a secret! And when that secret is revealed it changes every part of Roxy, Noah and Annabelle’s life!
This book is truly gut-wrenching, empowering, emotional and in parts made me so bloody angry I could have screamed! But it truly is one of my favorite Jennifer Ryan’s books…ever! The plot is unique and addictive, from the first moment I picked up this book, I couldn’t put it down! To say I’m excited for the next installment of the Wild Rose series is an understatement of epic proportions!
I give Dirty Little Secret 5 stars!
A special thank you to Author Jennifer Ryan for taking the time to interview with us today.
Q1: What inspired The Wild Rose Ranch Series?
Channel surfing. Literally. I stopped on this HBO documentary – Cathouse - about a legal brothel in Nevada. They were interviewing one of the prostitutes and she was talking about how she was a single mom and wanted to support her children. Working at the Bunny Ranch one week a month paid her more than she’d make at a fast-food restaurant, which was all she felt she could do back home. No one in her town knew she worked there. Her children didn’t know.
So it made me wonder, what would it be like to be the child of a prostitute who worked a legal job that was still taboo to many people? What brought these women to this kind of work? How would a daughter feel about being a woman? How would she feel about men and love and relationships? How about a family?
From that came Roxy, Sonya, Adria and Juliana’s stories. This was such a rich world to write. I loved exploring what brought the girls and their mothers to Wild Rose Ranch and how the women, wanting to break free of their mothers’ world, find their own path.
Q2: What research did you do for it? And what was the most bizarre thing you discovered?
I did a lot of internet research about legal prostitution in Nevada and the laws and regulations for the businesses. You might be surprised to know that prostitution is not legal in all of Nevada – and not in places like Las Vegas or Reno. Legal brothels are located in smaller towns and counties in the state. Prostitutes pay taxes and adhere to strict medical testing. There are strict advertising regulations, too.
The Cathouse documentary and online articles were great resources for how the brothel business works.
Q3: Will we see any of your other characters from the previous series, in this series?
Yes! Drake McGrath and his brothers and sister appear in HIS COWBOY HEART from my Montana Men series. Drake is ex-military and having a difficult time with his injuries and PTSD when Adria shows up on his ranch to start a business with his sister Trinity and upends his world in TOUGH TALKING COWBOY – book 3 Wild Rose Ranch.
Fans have been asking for his story – and I’m so excited to bring it to them.
Q4: Who is the character you most relate to in this new series?
I relate to all of them in some way, but I think I most relate to Sonya from RESTLESS RANCHER. She’s got people in her life but still feels like she’s on her own. She works a job that pays the bills but isn’t that fulfilling because she’s trying to find where she fits. In trying something new and getting out of her comfort zone, she discovers what’s really important and what makes her happy.
Q5: How many books are in this series?
3 books in total. DIRTY LITTLE SECRET (12/18/18), RESTLESS RANCHER (8/27/19), and TOUGH TALKING COWBOY (no release date yet).
Q6: Will each of the Wild Rose Sisters get a story?
Yes – but the twins – Adria and Juliana – share TOUGH TALKING COWBOY and readers will be surprised by the heartbreak and love and ups and downs that close out this series.
That said, each book stands on its own – and each story is filled with suspense, drama, the ties that bind, and love that lasts.
