They're tough, tender, and sometimes tormented; they're the Wildes of Wyoming, three brothers whose family ties are as strong as their wills.
Chase Wilde never expected to fall in love, especially with Shelby Payne. Years before, one passionate night had drawn these two lost souls together. Then Chase left on deployment with the Army, while Shelby raised their baby alone. Now he's back, a wounded warrior determined to turn his life around. Shelby knows what it's like to lose everything, including her own family. So she offers him a bargain: if he can prove himself to be the man he says he is, she will let him into their daughter's life...and maybe even into hers.
Chase knows it will take a lot to prove to Shelby that there's more between them than the single night they spent together. She's everything he's ever wanted, including the voice of reason he needs to reconcile his past and be the man he wants to be for them both. But just as their lives come together, she's torn away from him by a dangerous person from her past, and saving her means saving himself . . . because he can't live without her.
I’m super excited for this new Jennifer Ryan series and in only the style that she could do, she starts out the new Wildes of Wyoming series with a bang with the book Chase Wilde Comes Home.
Chase Wilde's life has been on a downhill slope since his mother died from cancer, from getting disowned by his father and brothers, to entering the Army, getting honorably discharged, PTSD, addicted to prescription medication, getting clean, trying to save his friend's sister in law after she was given deadly drugs and he nearly died and ended up back in rehab…. And that’s barely the prologue and chapter one!
But the one greatest thing that ever accidentally happened to Chase is having a one-night stand with Shelby Payne, but that didn’t end as a one-night stand as Shelby was pregnant! And when baby Eliza arrived, Chase tried to be as present as he could while being deployed, but Chase didn’t just love Eliza, he cared for Shelby too.
But Shelby’s life has been far from perfect and as the town pariah, she trusts no one and doesn’t want to impose on Chase, but now darkness from her past has returned, just as Chase, Shelby, and Eliza start a new life together!
Wow! This book has everything! Suspense, love, family reunion, and just enough realism that the story gets down deep into your soul… well mine at least.
I don’t know how the author can create such a complex story but tell it in such a simple way, that you get swept up in the story and feel like you are watching a movie!
