Meet New York Times bestselling author Jennifer Ryan’s McGraths: a family as untamed as the land they call home.

Tate McGrath just didn’t get it. Why was Liz Scott, his best friend—and the person he relied on and trusted most—suddenly avoiding him! When he finally tracks her down, he finds her with a man he knows nothing about and she’s been dating for weeks. Suddenly, he can’t make himself ignore her tempting curves and deep green eyes, and all he wants to do is keep her all to himself. What was going on? Could he possibly be…jealous?

Liz had made the decision: stop carrying a torch for Tate and find a guy who wants to be her everything. Tate had always seen her as honest, dependable, smart, kind…Best friend, not girlfriend! And she needed to give up the dream of marrying the man she’d loved since preschool and move on.

But when Liz’s boyfriend turns dangerous, Tate steps up to help and soon realizes he’s the cowboy hero she’s been waiting for him to be all along.

It is no secret that I'm a huge Jennifer Ryan fan, and I have read some of her most shocking, tough books that unashamedly tackle some difficult subjects, but this book absolutely shocked me to the core, mainly because I didn't expect the story to go the way it did. but before we get into that, let's start at the beginning.

Liz had loved Tate for years, but Tate had "friend-zoned" her, so Liz has decided to move on, and in walks, Clint, a man who seems to have it all and wants more than just friendship, which is what Liz wants...isn't it?

Tate knows he cares more for Liz than just friend, but he is scared to move past friendship, especially as he feels that he isn't good enough, but as saying goes 'You never knew you had a good thing till it was gone', and that is exactly what happens when Liz starts to ignore him and finds herself a boyfriend.

But when Tate starts to make an effort and reaches out things take a dark turn, and lives are in danger! and you are left wondering if Tate and Liz will get their happy ever after...

As I said Waiting on a Cowboy is a fantastic romantic suspense book, that has you holding your breath and gripping your seat as the author weaves her web of intrigue around you.

I give Waiting on a Cowboy 5 Stars!
