How well do you know the people you love? For one young woman returning to the past, the answer could be heart-shattering...

Vivi Shager is living her dream. Raised with drive and ambition by a resolutely single mother, Vivi has a thriving law career, a gorgeous apartment in London, and a full calendar that keeps her busy at work and at play. Then on the day of her twenty-seventh birthday, an undiagnosed heart condition sends Vivi’s prospects for the future into a tailspin. After escaping her roots nearly a decade ago, she’s forced to return to her childhood home to be cared for by her devoted and enigmatic mother. Vivi has always known the woman is hiding something and now she’s determined to find out what it is. Though her condition makes her fragile and vulnerable and she’s afraid of what may happen, her spirit remains strong. Then comes an unexpected ray of light.

Josh Raynor, a local veterinarian who his sisters claim is too handsome for his own good, brings a forbidden love to Vivi’s world. Josh and Vivi are soon inseparable, unaware of the past their families share. All Vivi knows is that Josh is wrestling with a demon of his own…
Then quite suddenly the awful truth is staring Vivi in the face and it changes everything.

Before I begin this review, I want to say that this book does not end with a Happily Ever After, so if that is what you are looking for, then this book is not for you.
 ***

Well, after that little disclaimer I’m going to try and review this book without giving away the book, but as I sit here crying my eyes out over the ending, I’m not quite sure how I can do that.

One Minute Later is the story of Vivienne Shager (aka Viv), who is a lawyer, and energetic, healthy women. But on her 27th birthday celebration, everything changes as Viv collapses because of a heart attack! And from that day on, everything has changed! Except for the one thing that she has always wanted to know…

But this book is not just about Viv, but about another family too! As 30 years earlier, a man lost his life is mysterious circumstances, living his widow Shelley to care for their children and look after their farm

Now, these two families are tied together, because of one devastating night, that took so much from two different families, nothing can stop the truth from coming out.

This is the first book by Susan Lewis I have ever read and it certainly won’t be my last! The authors writing is simply incredible, her way of telling a story simply blew my mind. The characters are relatable and it almost feels like an amazing soap opera playing out before us, but even better.

I cannot explain just how much this book means to me, and how the story will haunt me forever!

I give One Minute Later 5 stars!
