So the long-awaited Devils Daughter has arrived, which is book 5 in The Ravenels series by Lisa Kleypas, and after Hello Stranger, I have been dying for West Ravenel's book, though  was nervous to start, as West has been one of those characters that have been built up in my mind, a man of many scandals in his past, I felt he would need someone more bookish or bluestocking even. So to pair him with Phoebe, Lady Clare (Daughter of Sebastian, Lord St. Vincent), I was unsure of how the story would end. 

We find our unlikely couple being thrust together for the wedding of another unlikely pair, as its time for Gabriel, Lord St. Vincent to marrying his Lady Pandora Ravenel (whose love story is Devil in Spring), So all of the family has encamped to the Ravenels Estate for the wedding. But Phoebe's mind is not on the wedding, but on being forced to be near the man that made her late husband's school years miserable! And the bully in question is one West Ravenel! 

But when the meeting does take place, West turns out to be nothing like she thought, but he is a gentleman, who commands those around him with a quiet power and is well loved by his family and the staff, which is at odds with her husband's nemesis that she was set to do battle with. 

Now I'm not going to get into any more of the book, because this delicious story should be savored by you alone. But lets talk characters; West is an absolute darling of a character, funny, passionate, remorseful, and though I was not thrilled by his "I'm giving you all the decision making" part at towards the end of the book, as I feel like that its too much from his character, I do understand why the author did it that way. And then there is Phoebe's character, and while in parts of the book I loved her character, in other parts she didn't show even a quarter of the backbone that her parents have, and that saddened me a little. 

But despite those two minor issues that I had, Devils Daughter is still an amazing book that I completely adore, and will read again and again.
