So we are going to do something a little different on Cara’s Book Boudoir today, as I want to talk about Bookshops/ stores! and while this is a new direction I'm taking my blog today, I think this is something we should all do every once in a while.
If you have read my bio, you can see that I’m originally from England, and while there are huge bookshops there, I tended to go to my favorite book shop called Leigh Gallery Books.
I still remember twenty years later buying books there. They had orange plastic on the windows to stop the covers from fading, to the paper bags the books were placed in. It's strange that I still remember all that detail so many years after my last visit.
I guess you are wondering where I’m going on this strange rant, well it all started as I was scrolling through Facebook today, I saw an ad for The Caffeinated Book Worm, which is a book store that is in Lancaster County PA, which just an 45 minutes from where I live, and then it occurred to me that I cannot remember the last time I went to a small bookshop! Not a big box store, and I honestly cannot remember!
And that honestly shook me! It also has me curious, are others like me? And just one-click that book, and 2 days later it arrives in your mailbox! What books am I missing out on, that you know a bookseller would tell you about!
So after realizing my error, I’m planning trips to my local bookshops! But what about you? Are you a one-clicker or do you shop local?
